In November 2021, COERR organized campaign at Mae La Temporary Shelter of Tha Song Yang district, Tak Province, for at-source waste management by having people dig a garbage hole in their house and throw only kitchen waste for decomposing.
COERR also continued to campaign waste reduction and recycling by encouraging people to throw bottles and cups made of glass or plastic in recycle bins so that COERR environmental volunteer group could sell this recycled waste and earned extra income for the benefit of the Vulnerable in the community.
The recycle bins were placed in public areas to enable people to separate garbage, to be aware of waste value, to keep their community clean by throwing waste into the bin as well as to create income at the same time.
At COERR recycle shop, villagers and children who spent their free time on collecting the recyclable solid waste, would come to sell them for some income. This was an indirect way to raise environmental preservation awareness.
In November, the situation was improved that COERR staff were able to conduct ECO home visits that adopted at-source waste separation practice. During the visits, brooms and other cleaning tools were given, as well as advice about how to keep their house clean; how plants help the house a lovely place, etc.
There were 134 household joining the at-source waste separation activity in this month.
